Regarding the southern border, Senator Blackburn highlighted that there have been 279 known terrorists seeking entry into the United States. She expressed concerns about the current administration’s handling of these individuals, explaining that they are not sent to Guantanamo Bay but are held and must go before a judge to determine their eligibility for entry into the country.
Senator Blackburn also raised the issue of individuals from “special interest countries,” including China, Russia, Iran, Pakistan, Iraq, and Afghanistan, who have presented at the southern border. She stressed the need to secure the southern border due to the diverse origins of border crossers.
Senator Blackburn firmly stated that individuals on the terror watch list are terrorists, and she advocated for sending them to Gitmo rather than allowing them free passage into the United States. She called for a change in asylum rules, requiring individuals to seek asylum in their home country or another country rather than waiting inside the U.S. for a judge’s decision.
She emphasized that other countries do not allow individuals to simply walk in and claim asylum, highlighting the need to enforce existing laws and change asylum rules to address security concerns.

Sen. Blackburn offers some great suggestions for protecting our southern border. I especially like the one where terrorists attempting to enter the USA should be carted off to Guantanamo where they can’t do any damage. To add to her suggestions, perhaps we should do what other countries do to protect their borders. Most countries use their military forces to protect their country from invasion at their borders; yet, in this country all we have are the border patrol and occasionally the National Guard units of various states. Rather than send our men and women in uniform to foreign countries to protect foreign borders, let them stay home and be stationed at our borders. They are trained to stop invasions, so let them stop the one at our southern/northern borders. If the progressive socialist Democrats, along with their chosen idiot in the White House, refuse to do their due diligence in protecting the citizens of this country against all enemies–domestic and foreign–then let the governors of the border states call out their National Guard to permanently patrol the borders. If there were surveillance towers, armed with 50 caliber machine guns, placed at intervals across the entire length of the border and the illegal immigrants knew they might be shot if they attempted illegal entry, they might change their minds about stepping a foot across our border. If the amadans in DC don’t like it, let them stick it where the sun don’t shine while the governors enforce the 10th amendment and the immigration laws that are already on the books.
