Hunter Biden was not the only member of his family who used his connections to President Joe Biden’s advantage to land commercial partnerships with companies associated with foreign governments, according to a Politico article.
The publication claims that President Joe Biden’s brother, Jim Biden, had “some of the closest known contacts between a Biden family and a foreign government” because he was doing business with Qatari officials to finance his health care endeavors.
Furthermore, throughout these fundraising attempts, Jim Biden reportedly tried to circumvent prohibitions on foreign money transfers by using his relationship with his elder brother, according to emails and public records obtained by Politico.
Politico quoted fund manager Michael Lewitt, a longtime business associate of Jim Biden, who testified in a Kentucky bankruptcy court recently. According to reports, Lewitt claimed in sworn evidence that “members of the Qatari government” controlled a portion of two businesses that helped Jim Biden in his endeavors.
According to Lewitt’s documents and testimony during the federal bankruptcy proceedings, one company worked directly with Jim Biden on multi-year money-raising efforts, and the other company provided funding for a number of loans that a hospital had Jim Biden arrange for a fee.
According to the story, Jim Biden started reaching out to Qatari investors “in the months” following his elder brother’s resignation as vice president. A federal criminal investigation in South Florida is looking at transactions connected to the fundraising activities, and they are also “at the core” of a recently resolved Securities Exchange Commission fraud case.
Although Jim Biden had claimed in February that he had “stalled for lack of credible projects to promote” in his fundraising attempts, previously undisclosed evidence from Lewitt “indicates that Jim Biden built stronger relationships with Qatar’s government than previously believed.” Politico said Lewitt will likely provide testimony to House impeachment probe investigators.
Joe Biden’s connection with Qatar started in June 2017, according to the article, when the nation’s neighbors—Saudi Arabia foremost among them—severed diplomatic ties with it due to claims that it supported terrorism. According to the article, Qatar thereafter started “showering well-connected Westerners with gifts and financial perks, sometimes in the guise of investment capital.”
While working for the financially struggling hospital chain Americore, Jim Biden partnered with Platinum Group, whose CEO was Amer Rustom, who boasted about his connections to Lewitt, a hedge fund manager, and Middle Eastern officials, according to the report.
Politico said, using emails and federal court documents from Tennessee, that “Jim Biden, Rustom, and Lewitt wanted investment from the Middle East for Americore and other enterprises.” According to a former Americore official, Qatar became the main focus of the fundraising activities. To a representative of the Qatar Investment Authority, the country’s sovereign wealth fund, Biden and Rustom “worked on a draft letter” in August 2017. It said, among other things:
“I think His Excellency would be interested in my family’s wealth of introductions and commercial prospects at the highest levels.”
Additionally, it allegedly read, “I welcome your interest here on behalf of the Biden family.”
The entire Biden family plus other congressional leaders should be in prison and die in prison!
