If you’ve ever been to a marketing conference, you probably heard a lot of creepy, duplicitous language like “branding strategy,” “target demographic,” “search engine optimization.” But if you thought that kind of systemic manipulation was as low as they’d go, you’re probably not the brightest star in the sky.
Today, it’s something of a given that if you want to make money, (not the stuff you’re handed at the end of the week, I mean real money), then you have to play ball with current and developing global powers. It’s also known as selling your soul.
Interestingly, all of those marketing terms mentioned above have nothing to do with actual corporate practices. They are all about trading dignity for customer loyalty. Well, the makers of this meme couldn’t fit all of the loosest corporate moral compasses out there. But I think you’ll agree that all of them, every last living one of them, have sold their collective souls for China’s future permission to scoop a global customer demographic.

As with most things on this planet, Capitalism has both an up and a down side: it can even the playing field for a lot of people while also allowing manipulators to make incredible amounts of money and secure unbelievable power. It all comes down to avarice of the players., and too many politicians are simply money pits taking in more and more and giving nothing in return. How many people would actually run for office if winning an office forbade them from using that official power to advance the interests and wealth of their friends, family and supporters?
But Capitalism’s worst face is the one we see the most. There, however, certain trends within the general population that shows the true benefits of Capitalism: better living conditions for many, many people, more financial security, and (to me the most important) a spirit of generosity (and the means) to help other in need in times of crises. Sadly, though, the fact remains that those in power seek to stay in power by any means available, even a pandemic (or an inexplicable over-reaction to one).
But even at its worst Capitalism far surpasses Socialism as a closer-to-just method for bettering society as a whole, just as a true Representative Republic surpasses any Oligarchy even when disguised as Communism.
The ChiComs are bent on world domination, and they don’t care who knows it. Because they also know nobody will stand in their way, certainly not the US! Our politicians will sell their souls for whatever will keep them in power, our businesses will sell their country for whatever will give them wealth, and our people will sacrifice their liberty in exchange for cheap merchandise.
