We Have to Talk About How Creepy Schumer and Pelosi Looked

When President Donald Trump requested air time from the country’s major broadcasters to talk about the border wall and the ongoing government shutdown, Democratic leaders requested time to respond.

Of course, there’s nothing wrong with such a request. The opposition party is typically given time to respond to State of the Union addresses, and there’s no reason why they shouldn’t be allowed to do the same when the president is using air time to talk about such an important topic.

Some time after President Trump concluded his short-and-sweet breakdown on the border crisis, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi joined Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer in responding. Now, it’s not clear why they both had to appear together or why they awkwardly shared a podium. It’s also unclear if whoever did their makeup before they went live is still employed.

Sure, we could talk about the response itself — which mainly focused on the shutdown and the idea that walls are immoral and ineffective, though no reasons for the latter were given. But it’s just impossible to move on from how insanely creepy Schumer and Pelosi looked.

As this caption implies, it almost looks threatening…perhaps that was the point.
