A Facts Not Memes writer recently bought a Chromebook because they needed a computer to work and it was cheap. The thing makes it very hard to work offline, and they know that Google is using it to steal all of their personal information and sell it to marketing firms before passing it along to the NSA. We have always been the sort of freaks who cover the webcam on laptops with tape. (Actually, one of us uses three pieces of Velcro.) And I do not own a smartphone because the idea of voluntarily carrying a tracking device seems like a pretty cucked move.
