In February, the mainstream media finally got something it wanted — the jobs report was far smaller than it was expected to be. And while cable news hosts were certainly eager to run with it for weeks to suggest the Trumpian economic miracle really was a facade, they couldn’t — because the facts of the report came out soon after.
As it turned out, it was truly that job growth slowed for that month, but wages were up, and the economy was still adding jobs. In other words, it was still a positive report for the Trump Administration, and for America. And this is probably why you didn’t hear about the February jobs report every single day this month. Instead, we’ve fallen back on the usual topics: Robert Mueller’s eventual kill-shot, AOC’s wokeness, and whatever else.
