Socialists are Killing the Democratic Party

August was a bad month for progressives and socialists after a round of primary elections saw many endorsed by hard-left icons lose to their establishment rivals.

Among the many faces pushing for this socialist takeover of the Democratic Party is New York congressional candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez — famous for being a bartender and thinking challenges to debates are sexist.

Ocasio-Cortez has been hailed by DNC bigwigs as the “future of the Democratic Party” — and for good reason. People who label themselves “democratic socialists” are no longer considered to be on the fringe left. As the Democratic Party as a whole has become more radical, more and more supporters have embraced nationalized economies and stronger redistributionist programs.

At first, this may suggest that candidates supported by the likes of Bernie Sanders would actually do well in Democratic primary elections. But, the opposite has happened. Apparently, the center-left voter still exists, and that’s a serious obstacle for radical progressives.

It would be better for the Democratic Party and the United States as a whole for Americans to reject socialism altogether. But, when you have an entire generation with no memory of the Soviet Union’s reign of terror stepping into the voting booth, history begins repeating itself.
