Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders is currently considered to be the frontrunner for the Democratic Party’s nomination for president, and his campaign is barely a week old.
You could make the argument that Sanders has effectively been campaigning since he conceded to Hillary Clinton in 2016. His message is still popular with many younger Americans, and it’s been easy for him to stay in the limelight with media appearances and rallies since.
The irony here is that Bernie Sanders is an elderly straight white male — everything the intersectional wing of the left has a problem with. Barely five minutes ago, seemingly every Democratic candidate checked off one point for intersectionality: Elizabeth Warren is a woman, Cory Booker is black, and Kamala Harris is both black and a woman. But Bernie has something more appealing for Americans who care about things that don’t matter: socialism.
The fact that Sanders has basically become the frontrunner overnight shows that socialism is more important to the modern left than intersectional diversity is — meaning things on that side of the aisle are even worse than we thought. As pointless as multiculturalism is, the philosophy hasn’t killed 100 million people in under a century…
