When the media first began reporting on an ICE arrest of a man driving his pregnant wife to the hospital, most people thought they knew the whole story.
The narrative immediately following this story going viral was pretty predictable: Nazi-sympathizing ICE agents saw a brown-skin man, and immediately leapt into action to Make America White Again. Of course, no one focused on the fact that the man in question had a warrant out for his arrest…for murder.
If you missed this story, it’s because it was so easily refutable that it fell from the public consciousness within a matter of hours. This is what happens to a news story when the powers that be can’t push a narrative that degrades President Donald Trump, his supporters, or anything that remotely smells right-wing.
