His fresh new ideas were going to transform conservatism and his bold new ideas were going to attract younger people to the movement. At least, that’s what we were told.
Then, Dan Crenshaw turned out to be a gun-grabbing authoritarian. Who saw that coming? Crenshaw’s flagship piece of legislation is a bill to impose pre-crime “red flag” gun confiscation laws on Americans at the federal level. That would allow law enforcement to raid your home and take your guns if some random stranger tells a judge that they feel threatened by you.

We already have Red Flag Laws. Doctors, psychologists, and psychiatrists are required to red flag someone who poses a threat to themselves or somebody else. What is wrong with the existing Red flag laws is that most crazies NEVER come to the attention of the mental health antisystem. The mental health antisystem is OVERLOADED because of the ass-umption that all poor people are mentally ill.
