During a court appearance when his plea agreement reportedly fell through before a federal judge, Hunter Biden disclosed that he had gone to rehab centers six times since 2003.
In the hearing, when Biden entered a “not guilty” plea, the first son was due to enter a plea of guilty to two minor tax offenses and accept a pretrial diversion agreement for a felony federal firearms charge. By signing the deal, Biden would have been able to avoid going to jail and facing charges related to the firearm charge.
Prosecutors acknowledged that the investigation into Biden is ongoing and might lead to other felony charges, such as those related to foreign lobbying.
The 53-year-old first son was compelled to admit to using drugs and alcohol at the same time that he was being prosecuted for allegedly lying on an application to purchase a gun, according to the Daily Mail.
“I’ve been to drug treatment centers, your honor,” Biden allegedly remarked. “Over the past 20 years, I’ve went to, I think, close to six inpatient facilities.”
The president’s son said that he had additionally been to outpatient facilities.
“For addiction to drugs as well, yes, but originally it was to alcohol, your honor.”
Before the court reminded him that he would be subject to subsequent random drug tests under the terms of his release, Biden stated he was most recently in treatment in 2018 but has remained sober since 2019.
His 2021 book “Beautiful Things” had a lot of information regarding his drug usage and treatment stays and also detailed the times he ran away from rehab, according to the Daily Mail.
“When we arrived back in Washington in 2003, I made an effort to stop drinking. After 30 days of abstinence, I’d binge for three.” In reference to his initial rehab stay in Antigua, he added, “I couldn’t gain control of it.”
Later, long after his father was elected vice president, he resumed drinking in 2010, only to go back to the same rehab center in the Caribbean nation.
In another section of his book, he described going to rehab in Tijuana, Mexico, in 2014 before returning to drinking in 2015 as a result of his brother Beau’s passing.

I read his so called “Autobiography (out of sheer boredom not desire),” and quickly recognized a familiar pattern of denial of responsibility. It’s subtle, but it’s there.
Seems like Hunter Biden is so addicted that he’ll probably never get clean.
Yoou would think that President Joe Niden would support passing treatment centers rues/laws to help addicts since Hunter is one. No where have I seen this happening. there are many addicts out there; not wanting to be addicts but unable to help themselves due to expenses and proiferation of drugs in the US.
This has increased since the bnorders are opened due to Biden’s lack of control.
