A detained migrant from Lebanon in El Paso, Texas, allegedly makes the assertion that he is a Hezbollah terrorist. The Lebanese national stated his desire to manufacture a bomb and claimed to be traveling to New York.
Near El Paso, Texas, Border Patrol officers detained 22yo Basel Bassel Ebbadi, a citizen of Lebanon, for unlawfully entering the US from Mexico. The New York Post obtained an exclusive interview with Ebbadi, in which he stated, “I’m going to try to create a bomb,” in response to the question of why he had traveled to the United States.
On March 9, agents apprehended Ebbadi as he traversed the Texas-Mexico border. The El Paso hardened facility was the destination of the Lebanese man’s transportation to the processing and investigative centers. Ebbadi informed the agents two days later that he was planning to fabricate a bomb. In order to question the individual, the agents placed him in isolation and called the Tactical Terrorism Response Team.
Agents Mirandized the individual on March 12 during the questioning, and he subsequently confessed to being a member of a foreign terrorist group.
According to reports, Ebbadi also acknowledged that he spent seven years training with Hezbollah and another four years actively participating in their activities. The protection of weapon caches was one of his responsibilities.
Over the first quarter of Fiscal Year 24, which started on October 1, 2023, roughly sixty individuals who entered the United States illegally were found to be on the terror watch list. In the two fiscal years before this one, we broke records by apprehending about 270 more.
