It’s tweets like this that make us almost sad, because we know it’s never going to happen.
As progressive young lawmakers push for the so-called “Green New Deal”, Democratic leaders are standing firm against re-opening the government because the president wants to improve border security with a physical barrier. This Green New Deal is insanely ambitious, with the goal to rapidly move the United States away from fossil fuels. Now…presumably that would include constructing solar panels. Why not make everyone happy, and put these panels along the southern border?
Now, Democrats might respond to this by saying that solar panels are expensive — but when has that ever stopped them before?
Now, there’s a reason why Democrats won’t budge on a border wall under any circumstances. If immigrants from Central and South America voted Republican, a 50-foot wall would have already been completed 20 years ago. Their stance on immigration is purely political, and ultimately unethical.
