Warning: This Meme Will Make You Sharpen Your Bayonet

Ouch! What else can we say in response to a meme that cuts us so deeply and makes us feel so ashamed of America right now.

The Continental Army lost 25% of its men in the winter of 1777-78 due to cold, starvation, and desertion. Famine struck the army. Many of them didn’t have a single change of clothes or a winter coat to make through the snowy months at Valley Forge.

But the ones who did make it through that winter were tougher and more resolved than ever before. Hard times create hard men, as the saying goes. They turned that situation around and went on to defeat the greatest empire on Earth at the time.

And as this meme notes, Americans in 2020 threw it all away because they were afraid of getting sick. Yikes!

Today we have armed police showing up at church services to arrest Christians in America, and no one bats an eye. This meme is really a bummer, because it’s way too true.
