Americans are locked in the same debate after every mass shooting, and it’s beginning to grow increasingly old and watered down.
Before the bodies of the slain are even cold, liberals rush in to point out that such atrocities simply don’t happen in other countries — conveniently ignoring numerous reports of acid attacks, knife attacks, and even violent crimes involving makeshift firearms in countries like the United Kingdom.
They also seem to ignore the more creative mass killers, such as those responsible for truck attacks in places like Nice, France.
The point here is very clear: no amount of gun control is going to erase violent crime. The only thing it effectively does is make it harder for individuals to defend themselves. You would think a movement that likes to argue that home abortions are more common in places where abortion is less than fully legal would understand that.
Sadly, this debate has been anything but consistent.
