At this point, the Democratic Party seems only a few short steps away from making “Russia did it” their official slogan for the 2018 midterm elections.
On policy, we haven’t heard much from Democratic leaders aside form their mere stiff opposition to anything the Trump administration does or says. However, we’ve heard plenty about their suspicions that Donald Trump defeated Hillary Clinton with direct help from the Kremlin in 2016.
Despite the fact that the case for this narrative appears to grow weaker by the day, it might be safe to assume that Democrats are deeply against the idea of foreigners influencing American elections, right?
Well, not exactly. As it turns out, Democrats only have an issue with this if it is perceived to benefit the right. Fast-tracking non-citizens into being able to vote, a move more and more Democrats are motioning support for, indicates we simply cannot take them seriously when it comes to foreign interference.
