We’ve been told that President Donald Trump is a racist phenomenon for years at this point. One of the supposed reasons for this is that the President happens to enjoy considerable support from white American voters — or at least a clear majority.
Obviously, there are plenty of white people (especially on the coasts) that couldn’t be more clear about how much they dislike Trump. But, they’re outnumbered by the rural Americans who like low unemployment, strong borders, and being able to keep more of their own money.
But, for the sake of argument, let’s just give the progressives one thing for a minute — let’s pretend that having too many white people like you is racist. Why then, don’t we ever talk about the black vote for Barack Obama?
Those of us old enough to remember 2008 know how important race was in the conversation about Obama. And to be fair, it was hard to avoid — he was going to become our first black president. No matter where you come from politically, that’s a pretty big deal — especially considering the unique history of black Americans.
So, did black Americans overwhelmingly support Barack Obama out of hatred for other races? If we follow the logic progressives use with Trump supporters, than the answer has to be yes.
