Younger readers might have a hard time believing this, but there was a time when the Democratic Party wasn’t seen as the radical leftist camp it is today.
After all, it was Democratic President John F. Kennedy who began military operations in Vietnam with the explicit purpose of limiting Communist influence there. Throughout his untimely short-lived presidency, Kennedy made repeated calls to counter Soviet-backed socialist uprisings around the world, and came off as a true patriot in the process.
Considering his track record, it’s no wonder why it was a communist who would end up ending the president’s life…
The Democratic Party of today could not hold a more different view of socialism, evidenced by the successful primary election of New York’s Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. An avid follower of open socialist Bernie Sanders, Ocasio-Cortez holds some of the most radical views in a generation — views that would make Soviet sympathizers blush.
Clearly, the Democratic Party has been infiltrated and overthrown. The neo-liberal establishment that once ran the party is quickly losing ground to a radical new enemy, and their own voters lack either the spine or the will to do anything about it.
