Support For BLM Is Not What You Would Expect In 2023

A survey released this week indicates that support for the Black Lives Matter movement in America has fallen to its lowest level since 2020.

The Black Lives Matter movement is supported by around 51% of American people, according to a Pew Research Center study. This is a significant six-point decline from the 56% who supported it in the past year. The Hill claims:

“After Floyd’s passing in 2020, two-thirds of American adults claimed they supported the movement,” according to a Pew study of 5,073 respondents.

“Opinions regarding the movement differ by race, age, and political leaning.”

“Adults of color are more likely to support the movement. According to the study, the Black Lives Matter movement is supported by 81% of Black people in the United States, compared to 63% of Asian adults, 61% of Hispanic adults, and 42% of white adults.”

Younger individuals were more likely to be in favor of the movement, but white adults were more inclined to think it “divisive” or “threatening.”

The movement is backed by around 64% of people between the ages of 18 and 29, but just 52% of those between the ages of 30 and 49. Between the ages of 50 and 64, the percentage drops to 46%, and among seniors 65 and beyond, it reaches its lowest point of 41%.

Along party lines, support for the movement also differs, with Democrats being more supportive.

According to tax papers from 2022, Black Lives Matter “had a $8.5 million loss and the investment funds lost almost $10 million of value,” as Breitbart News reported.

The article said that “the charity had raised $90 million since George Floyd’s death in the summer of 2020, and has blown through two-thirds of that amount. The most recent Form 990 submission by the Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation (BLMGNF) offers a dismal picture of the organization’s financial situation and predicts a path toward collapse. The organization recorded a $961,000 loss in 2022 on a $172,000 security sale.”

Black Lives Matter co-owner Patrisse Cullors, who resigned from the organization when it came under fire for her use of charitable donations, revealed in May of last year that she had used the organization’s $6 million property to throw private parties.

She reportedly sought “refuge at the property amidst threats to her life” during one of those incidents in January 2021. However, she made the decision to organize an inaugural party honoring Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’s victory at the time, inviting around 15 people total, “including BLM LA chapter members along with other important movement supporters,” according to the AP.

When Cullors hosted her son’s birthday party at the BLM site two months later, she informed the media outlet that “she planned to pay the rental charge to the foundation.”

Tax returns submitted to the IRS also revealed that Cullors lavishly paid her brother plus the father of the child to perform a variety of activities.

According to tax records obtained by several media sources, BLM paid the dad of Cullors’ kid, Damon Turner, through a firm he owns, roughly $970,000 to assist in “producing live events” and give other “creative services,” according to Breitbart News.

  1. I live in more Southeastern Illinois, I would love to have NORTH ILLINOIS (CHICAGO) and SOUTH ILLINOIS. Two states instead of what we have now. Let the Democrats destroy North Illinois, and Let South Illinois be run by Republicans who love this country, our kids respect the flag and the constitution of this country. Chicago is CORRUPT, our lawmakers are CORRUPT. We are losing population because of our extreme tax basis, instead of fixing Chicago, they let those there destroy the State.
