Mark Hamill, the star of the original Star Wars trilogy that spawned a franchise that expanded beyond generations, doesn’t like that the Trump family is among the millions that adore his work.
Last week, Ivanka Trump shared a photo of her children donned in signature Stormtrooper gear, clearly admiring the iconic films that made Mark Hamill what he is today. The First Daughter captioned the photo of herself and the children with the phrase “the Force is strong with my family,” referring to the mystical energy in the movies that give Jedi warriors their power.
Well, Hamill didn’t like that too much, and responded to the tweet with this cringe-worthy correction: “you misspelled ‘fraud.'”
Now, let’s move on from the fact that his was the most lame come back we could think of, because that’s not the story here. The story is that the First Daughter shared a photo of her children being cute, and a fully-grown man told her to go to hell.
That’s it. That’s where we are now as a culture.
God help us…
