It hasn’t been a good month for French President Emanuel Macron — despite the willingness of the global elite to defend virtually anything he does.
Take his treatment of the so-called “yellow vest” protests which continue to spread across his country. When some of the anti-government demonstrations turned violent, Macron’s forces were forced to do what any police force would have to do in order to stop the destruction — use more definitive force. In this case, that included tear gas.
Now, let’s back up a couple of weeks — before the yellow vest demonstrations became international news. U.S. border patrol agents were forced to use tear gas as well as rubber bullets to defend themselves from violent migrants attempting to force their way into the country. The agents as well as the president they answer to were slammed in the media, and continue to be despite virtually no one on the left recognizing that one of their favorite world leaders literally did the same thing.
Of course, this has happened before in the United States. Just a few short years ago, police forces in overwhelmingly Democrat-controlled cities like Ferguson and Baltimore were forced to use tear gas when rioters threatened to tear the cities apart.
Once again, we have an example of a problem that is only really a problem if a Republican is in charge.
