Remember the Democratic Tempter Tantrum of 2016?

When Democratic leaders Sen. Chuck Schumer and Rep. Nancy Pelosi responded to President Donald Trump’s national address on border security last week, they wrote the government shutdown off as a massive tempter tantrum by the president.

This language continued to be used throughout the rest of the week, with Pelosi and Schumer going on to claim that the president slammed his fists onto the table when they wouldn’t agree to fund his border wall the following day. President Trump denied ever doing this.

So, we just have a classic case of he-said-she-said that at the end of the day isn’t even really that important. What is important is that the government remains shutdown as Congress is gridlocked over how to reach a compromise on border security.

Based on what Schumer and Pelosi have said, you might think that Trump’s behavior is totally unprecedented. But when you take just a short trip through memory lane, you’ll find that this goes both ways.

As seen in this image, Democratic lawmakers refused to budge because House Republicans wouldn’t allow a vote on gun control legislation which would have effectively overrode the Second Amendment. Granted, it was a pretty pathetic tantrum that lasted less than a day, because Democrats apparently don’t last too long outside of their heavily-gated and walled homes.
