When you talk to the modern leftist, President Donald Trump is America’s answer to the junta governments that overtook South America during the 1970s and 80s and implemented military-style dictatorships. Oh, and he’s often compared to Adolf Hitler too, but you already knew that.
If Trump really is a far-right fascist dictator, he’s absolutely terrible at acting like one.
For one, he is slandered on a routine basis, and really doesn’t seem to care that much. Unlike Turkey’s Recep Erdogan, Trump has jailed exactly zero journalists, and has indicated precisely no plans to do so in the future. Sure, the president has spoke about the press using his characteristic hyperbolic language, but none of this has translated into any anti-press policy.
The First Amendment is still firmly intact — although it seems to be frequently violated by leftist-controlled college campuses when students melt down over center-right speakers holding events there.
At this point, it’s almost as if the left wants Trump to act like the hellish nightmare they think he is.
