The results are in, and the Democrats are in serious trouble.
While Democratic lawmakers like Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer were claiming that President Donald Trump’s first-ever State of the Union address was the most divisive string of rhetoric in the history of human oratory, independents were hopping on the Trump train.
According to a scientific poll conducted by CBS News, the president’s words resonated extremely well with a very ideologically diverse group of people. Almost 100 percent of Republicans approved of the speech, in addition to a shockingly high 72 percent of independents. And, let’s be honest – 43 percent approval from registered Democrats isn’t too shabby either.
Apparently, the only ones who had an issue with what the White House billed as a message of unity were members of the hard left – and partisan hacks within the Democratic Party.
If this polling is accurate, Democrats could be in serious trouble going into the 2018 midterm elections. Due to Trump’s perceived character flaws, it was assumed that Republicans would lose their grip over Congress. Now, political analysts aren’t so sure.
