Now, you’ve all heard about “Trump Derangement Syndrome” — we cover its most memorable moments pretty extensibly here. And, we’ll just admit this outright: we’re still not over it — these people are hilarious, and they give us an endless stream of material to send you folks.
But, as we go into the new year with an election cycle still ahead of us, we have to move on to the next phase — post-impeachment syndrome.
As the name implies, this budding mental disorder refers to the state of the American left after the U.S. House of Representatives voted to impeach President Donald Trump. Those of us who passed social studies in high school understood what that meant: at some point, there will be a trial in the Senate that will decide whether or not Trump will be removed from office. Those of us who passed math in elementary school (and are able to count) know that, with a solid GOP majority in the upper chamber, this is almost impossible.
Apparently, there are scores of Americans who couldn’t pass math or social studies, because a lot of people seemed to believe that impeachment is the same as removal from office. Others seem to think that, after years of hearings, there is still a smoking gun out there that will justify a removal from office. Obviously, neither of these things are true, and liberals are just left with their own sadness to contend with.
