We’d laugh out loud at this meme if it were not so incredibly sad. But by every measurable standard, Mayor Lori Lightfoot has done far more damage to the city of Chicago than notorious gangster Al Capone ever could have. (In fairness, Al Capone actually liked Chicago, unlike the current mayor.)
Thanks to Lori Lightfoot’s anti-policing and no cash bail policies, Chicago managed to rack up 797 murders in 2021. That’s more homicides than were committed in most US states in 2021. When your city is averaging 2.1 murders per day, it’s maybe time to look in the mirror and consider what you’re doing wrong, no?
By comparison, the worst crime that Al Capone was ever involved in was the St. Valentine’s Day Massacre. Seven rival gang members were murdered by Capone’s crew. It was a such a notorious crime at the time that the feds sent in Elliot Ness to lead a major task force.
