To this day, major Democratic figures like twice-failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton will tell you that Stacy Abrams only lost in Georgia because of rampant voter fraud. Democrats typically don’t care about voter fraud, but they’re happy to jump on the bandwagon when they lose.
Florida’s recent gubernatorial election is another example. Ahead of the 2018 vote, we heard the same tired argument that voter fraud simply doesn’t happen in the United States — usually from the same people that claim the 2016 presidential election was a complete sham because of Russian hackers or something. As it turns out, both of these elections were entirely legitimate, but that doesn’t mean voter fraud doesn’t happen ever.
So, for the sake of this argument, let’s say the Democrats were right about both Florida and Georgia. Heck, let’s even throw in the 2016 election. You know what would solve all of this and make everyone happy? A more strict vetting process for voting. We’re not talking about TSA-style pat-downs for everyone walking into a voting booth — just a simple government-issued ID that confirms an individual is a citizen and allowed to vote. That’s it.
…but no. Democrats have turned this sort of thing down every time it’s been proposed. Apparently, asking people to provide proof that they are legally registered to vote is racist…or something. We’re not sure what their problem is, actually.
