Know Your Dictator: Vladimir Putin versus Justin Trudeau

It’s hard to take the whole “Muh Ukraine” situation in eastern Europe seriously, because the media, the Democrats and most Republicans in Congress are such liars about it. We don’t have peanut butter and tampons on store shelves in America because of Vladimir Putin? Really? Then again, “Some damned fool thing in the Balkans” can tend to get out of hand (See also: World War I).

But should we be terribly worried about a border dispute in an obscure eastern European country that most of us still can’t find on a map? Especially when we have much worse dictators than Vladimir Putin right in our own backyard.

As this meme highlights, Vladimir Putin is not the guy who has banned dissidents from leaving his country, hasn’t seized the bank accounts of political opponents, hasn’t declared martial law, and hasn’t banned people from protesting him. Justine Trudeau of Canada has done all of that. (So has the leader of Ukraine, but whatevs.)

Some people even think that Putin may have whacked a political opponent or two over years, Sopranos-style. And? Compare Putin in that category with what people believe about Hillary Clinton sometime and get back to us about who would be the scarier dictator.
