It Would Be Nice for Bernie Sanders to Read the Constitution

Democrats treat the Constitution of the United States a lot like they treat the Bible. They will invoke it when it serves their purposes, then relegate it to “outdated” and “misunderstood” when it doesn’t.

One of the more frequent offenders today is Pete Buttigieg, who routinely chastises the Republican Party for apparently not being “Christian” enough because they don’t support an outrageous welfare state. But, you see, Jesus said some nice things about caring for the poor, therefore Republicans are wrong about everything. The Bible also says his sexuality is sinful, but he conveniently forgets about that.

Mayor Pete isn’t alone in this behavior. As you see here, Bernie Sanders jumps on this bandwagon all of the time. In one of the tweets, Sanders praises the Constitution, and condemns Republicans for failing to live up to it. In the other, he calls for a policy that is blatantly unconstitutional.

Once again, we’re going to ask leftists to make up their mind about how they feel about these things. You can’t hold up something like the Constitution as the end-all-be-all of political thought, then suddenly turn around and campaign against it when you find something you don’t like. All we’re asking for is a hint of consistency…
