How ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome’ Actually Helps the President

In 2016, Americans went to the polls with two clear choices: a career politician who has spent much of her career demonizing the country she aimed to serve, and a foul-mouthed billionaire playboy who has nothing but positive things to say about the country. We all know how that went.

The same sentiment that sealed the deal for President Donald Trump continues to help him as his presidency endures universally negative press coverage. If the president came out tomorrow talking about how much he loves turkey sandwiches, your social media feeds would be flooded with articles from Vice News and the Huffington Post about how all white supremacists like turkey sandwiches…or something.

This tendency by the media and some of the more cringe-worthy social justice warriors who worship it to overreact to absolutely everything the president does is now known as Trump Derangement Syndrome. Sure, it’s a made up word, but it’s getting harder and harder to tell the difference between this and an actual mental disorder.

Take Whoopi Goldberg’s recent exchange with Fox News personality Jeanine Pirro for example. Minutes into what was supposed to be a normal interview about Pirro’s book turned into a full-scale meltdown when Goldberg simply couldn’t handle the fact that someone might have a different view of the president’s performance.

All of this just makes Trump look better and better. For the sake of Making America Great Again, let’s hope this trend continues.
