How Bernie Sanders Celebrates Valentine’s Day

If you’re old enough to remember when Valentine’s Day wasn’t considered too offensive or discriminator to be celebrated in public school, you might remember you and your classmates being able to drop corny Valentine’s Day gifts on each other’s desks.

Welp, it’s a good thing Bernie Sanders wasn’t in charge of this operation, or else it would have been considered unfair for Jennifer to get more candies than Sally. It wouldn’t matter that boys liked talking to Jennifer more, or that Sally liked to shoot spit balls at everyone during group reading sessions. Fair is fair, damn it.

Sadly, Sanders and others who share his outdated 19th century ideas have a say in something far more important: the United States economy. And yes — capitalist societies have wealth disparities. But that doesn’t matter. The poorest of the poor in these societies actually have more access to resources than in any other system that preceded or succeeded it. People like Sanders are just upset that they can’t decide who gets to win.
