Hong Kong Protesters WANT a Second Amendment

Anti-Beijing demonstrations happening in Hong Kong right now aren’t getting nearly the amount of media attention — or quite frankly, government attention — that they deserve.

All you have to do is look at the signs, many of which are written in English. This is a clear attempt by pro-freedom Hong Kong residents to appeal to the western world, particularly the United States. This point was made further clear when pictures circulated showing demonstrators holding up signs which read “we need the Second Amendment.”

As if it couldn’t get any more obvious, other demonstrators showed up waving American flags, and singing the national anthem of the United States. These people are begging for help — or at least some level of public support.

Let’s remember who these people are protesting — a communist dictatorship. This is the same government President Donald Trump has declared a trade war with. This trade war has hurt the Chinese government, but has also impacted American consumers. If the goal is to weaken the Chinese government, wouldn’t it make sense to bring Hong Kong into the fold?

In either case, the situation in Hong Kong is a perfect example of why we need — and must keep — the Second Amendment here in America.
