Whenever you’re feeling down folks, there’s an easy way we pick ourselves back up here at the office: we remember that Hillary Clinton could have been our president, and she isn’t.
This might sound petty, but remember: there were serious things at stake in 2016. Our country’s future was on the line. Illegal immigration was getting out of control. Islamic radicals were carving up the Middle East and establishing reactionary theocracies. American workers were seeing their jobs exported overseas. The country at large was getting ripped off on every single trade deal on the books. Under President Donald Trump, a man with no prior political experience whatsoever, we’ve seen progress in every single one of those areas.
But remember, this was not an easy victory. Trump had to contend not only with the Democratic Party as well as the mainstream media, but the Republican Party establishment as well. There were opponents at every turn, and Trump defeated them all.
America could have played it safe by electing a tried and true politician. It’s what we’ve been doing for centuries, with mixed success. But this time, we truly took a gamble, and we think the results can speak for themselves at this point.
