That picture of Bernie Sanders at the fake inauguration the other day has been pure meme gold ever since. There was Bernie – freezing his tail off, wearing a pair of homemade mittens and looking as grumpy as ever behind his mask.
Ever since that photo first appeared, there has been an explosion of Grumpy Bernie across social media. “Bernie in Mittens” is suddenly as ubiquitous as those ceramic garden gnomes that travel the world in people’s vacation photos.
So far, we’ve seen variations of Grumpy Bernie in Stephen Crowder’s “Change My Mind” memes, Bernie on the moon, Bernie in multiple parade floats, Bernie getting sniffed by Joe Biden, Bernie crossing the Delaware with George Washington, Bernie being carried around the Capitol by a protester (instead of Pelosi’s lectern), and Bernie hanging out with Zed from “Pulp Fiction” (so inappropriate!). This one of the late Bob Ross painting Bernie into a landscape is probably the silliest one out there, so we included it for you to enjoy.
And who could blame Bernie for being so grump at the inauguration? If anyone understands the vicious ruthlessness that Democrats will employ to cheat in an election, it’s Bernie Sanders. The DNC rigged the primaries to steal the nomination from Bernie in 2016 – and then they turned around and did it again in 2020.
