Most of the memes on the Occupy Democrats Facebook page can be summed up in three words: “not an argument”. The word salad to the left of this paragraph is no different.
In this post, the user falls back on the usual “diversity is strength” narrative, which of course has no empirical weight to speak of.
“America will not be destroyed because of undocumented immigrants, Muslims, abortions or the LGBT community,” the post reads. “But rather the unbridled greed, never-ending deception, unprecedented corruption, and non-existent morality of Trump and his enablers in the Republican Party.”
Basically, what we’re seeing here is a usual “Trump-pocalypse” post, and it’s all we’ve heard from the left for the past 6 months. There is an assumed assault on racial minorities as well as an assumed level of corruption from the White House. The former is blatantly untrue, as Trump has yet to sign any legislation regarding public morality. The latter is based on unsubstantiated rumors promoted by a left-wing media.
Perhaps the most humorous part of this post is that Donald Trump is the most pro-LGBT Republican in the party’s history. This is the man who told Caitlyn Jenner that she could pee in any restroom in any Trump-owned building during his campaign. The Donald also has a substantial LGBT following, including the group “Gays for Trump” and infamous conservative provocateur Milo Yiannopolous.
You can slam Trump all you want – the Republican Party has become more accepting than ever under his watch.
