Democrats Should Declare Hawaii a “Missile Free Zone”

In case you missed it over the weekend, residents in Hawaii were briefly led to believe they were all about to die in a nuclear fire when they received government warnings on their phones alerting them of an incoming ballistic missile.

37 minutes later, authorities and news agencies confirmed it was a false alarm, and that Hawaii was not under any threat of a nuclear attack. Of course, this is a good thing, but it underscores the horrific level of incompetence on the part of many state employees.

Naturally, the memes followed — with this being one of the best. Using the same logic liberals use to justify heightened gun control measures, why shouldn’t Hawaii simply declare itself a “missile free zone” in the case of an actual attack? Shouldn’t that make any incoming threats vanish into fair dust?

It’s easy to see how this makes no sense — and neither does the conventional liberal take on gun confiscation or Second Amendment restrictions.
