Chinese Leaders Are Preparing For War With America–What Do They Know?

On May 30, 2023, Chinese President Xi Jinping warned his senior national security officials to be ready for “worst-case scenarios” as well as “stormy seas.”

Alex Wu of The Epoch Times reports that Xi was speaking with representatives present at the first National Security Commission gathering after the CCP’s 20th National Congress in 2022.

“The complexity and severity of the national security concerns we currently confront have grown greatly,” according to commission head Xi, who emphasized that they must be fully understood. Xi urged CCP leaders to uphold the “spirit of struggle” and “must stick to the bottom line thinking including worst-case-scenario thinking, and get prepared to go through the major tests of strong winds along with rough waves, and even hazardous stormy seas.”

As the Chinese government deals with a “complex and serious” geopolitical environment, Xi also emphasized the necessity for the Chinese government to speed up military modernization and increase its effectiveness in “actual battle and practical use.”

Since 2022, the United States has taken a number of steps to counter China’s rise, including limiting China’s influence in the high-tech industry, apprehending Chinese nationals engaged in espionage, closing China’s overseas police stations, and imposing sanctions on Chinese officials.

Additionally, Xi ordered the development of a national security risk surveillance and early warning system, improved national security education, and simplified data and AI management at the meeting.

As the US completes its pivot to Asia, China is unmistakably getting ready for confrontation. In this case, cooler heads must prevail. China is a nuclear power that is prepared to use whatever means necessary to protect its vital national interests.

Undoubtedly, the US has to address how China abuses the country’s trade policies and poor immigration system. However, starting a war with it would be insane.
