These Virus Death Certificates Are Approaching Absurdity

This meme of Aragorn and Boromir from The Fellowship of the Ring (not that we’re nerds or anything) is spot-on. The weird thing about all of this is that despite living in one of the most advanced countries in the world, we will probably never have an accurate coronavirus death count in America.

The whole thing has been politicized for so long – and so badly – by so many people that virtually every type of death has been categorized as a COVID death in at least one state. We’ve seen shooting victims, motorcycle crash fatalities and even a guy who got struck by lightning categorized as coronavirus fatalities.

The truth is that overall, new cases and fatalities are down as we head into August. Fatalities are actually way down compared to April, now that New York and New Jersey have stopped sending infected patients into nursing homes.

We’re still being bossed around and told to wear masks and socially distance from one another in many states, despite the facts that social distancing and mask-wearing have been totally debunked as effective safety measures. And we may never know the whole truth about just how serious this virus is – because too many people have lied to us.
