The Dumbest Post About Voter IDs You’ll See Today

It must take a lot of time spent in publicly-funded university classrooms to take this post seriously.

In this meme, posted by leftist echo chamber The Other 98%, two entirely different forms of identification are shown, with the content creator suggesting both are equally valid justifications for heading into a voting booth.

There’s just one problem: gun permits are issued by the state, and can hence be verified by the same entity. Student IDs, which can be issued to anyone on planet Earth who is still willing to pay for higher education, do not enjoy the same status.

The left’s opposition to voter identification laws has always been suspect. In arguing against it, critics suggest that it is somehow more difficult for racial minorities or members of the working class to acquire them. This is completely untrue — it’s not like social workers at the DMV run a credit check while you’re standing on line. Truthfully, it’s hard to tell what they do at all, but that’s a topic for another time.
