We sincerely hope that Americans refuse to submit to a second idiotic shutdown due to the “dramatic” and “unexpected” rise in cases this summer. Since the fake news media relies on people forgetting the BS they told us just a few months ago, here are a few reminders.
First, in the run-up to the shutdowns in March, when Democrats realized that shutdowns would be a way to cripple President Trump on his number one issue (the economy), the media “experts” predicted 11 million American deaths. Then, it was revised downward to 2.2 million, 1.3 million, 600,000 and so on. They started at 11 million casualties and it was a lie.
Second, we always knew that there would more cases heading into July. That was literally what “flattening the curve” meant. The initial 10-day shutdown was intended to give us time for hospitals to brace for the impact of the virus.
The purpose of flattening the curve was to spread the infections out over a longer period of time, so the health care system wouldn’t be overwhelmed.
Finally, we were told that the death rate would be around 3.4%. As of today, it’s 0.6%. As this meme notes, the virus was portrayed as Godzilla, but it’s a lot more like a teensy little lizard that doesn’t breathe fire.
