Make no mistake about it: Democrats want Hillary Clinton to run. Despite the fact that Clinton has been rejected by voters twice on the national stage, Democrats feel that she is still the best chance they have. And they might be right.
Joe Biden can’t remember what day it is. Bernie Sanders can’t relate to anyone who has a job and a health insurance plan. Elizabeth Warren just seems like a bad re-run of Hillary Clinton, except her personal misgivings are somehow even more noticeable.
The lower-tier candidates just discredit the party by default. Corey Booker can’t speak at a volume lower than a full scream, Beto O’Rourke is basically a walking HuffPost article, and Tulsi Gabbard makes the constant mistake of not hating everyday Americans enough (big mistake for Democrats).
So, it’s not that they want Hillary. They need Hillary. And, let’s be frank: there’s no question that she wants this too. She sees the White House as her birthright, and she has since she was Bill Clinton’s first lady in the 1990s. At this point, we will be surprised if she doesn’t run…
