The freshman lawmaker from New York is constantly making headlines by asking absurd questions during congressional hearings, hyping up identity politics, or saying things that are provably false. Recently, she made the assertion that the Daily Caller, a mainstream conservative news outlet, had ties to white supremacy, despite having precisely no proof to back that up. So, what is it that is convincing progressive Americans to flock to her support? What’s going on here?
The truth is that AOC is making a lot of promises, and when asked how she plans to provide, she answers by making even more promises. Sure, the “free weed” bit seen on this picture is hyperbolic, but her typical answer is little more than “why not?” Asking for a payment plan is just a “right-wing talking point,” apparently.
