Life can be pretty lonely for Americans who support Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren’s presidential campaign — mainly because there aren’t a whole lot of them.
Just a few short years ago, Warren was regarded as an early favorite for the Democratic Party’s next White House attempt. And she met many of the qualifications — she’s a woman with an Ivy League background, and she really doesn’t know a whole lot about economics. She was the perfect Democrat.
But the Democratic Party has been through some very rapid changes, and Warren is struggling to keep up. For one — she stops just short of accepting the socialist label like rival Bernie Sanders, who has been shilling for communism for decades. Another reason — despite her intersectional status as a woman — that isn’t enough anymore. You have to be a person of color, as well as a woman, to truly play the intersectional card. Then again, even Kamala Harris is having a hard time drawing up a crowd these days.
So, drink up Warren supporters — we understand life is difficult right now.
