This Meme Concludes the Johnny Depp-Amber Heard Drama

We’ve studiously tried to avoid all the Johnny Depp versus Amber Heard memes for the past few weeks as the defamation trial unfolded. We’ve been mostly successful, but it’s really kind of tough to avoid the memes if you’re on social media. There are a lot of them.

This week, the trial jury finally reached a verdict. When Amber Heard wrote her big #MeToo op-ed a couple of years ago claiming that Johnny Depp had abused her, Depp sued her for defamation. The jury ruled in Depp’s favor and found that Heard had in fact defamed him.

Depp was awarded $10.35 million as a result, which is what sparked this meme. That should just about conclude the Depp/Heard saga then. So, please, dear internet, stop with the Johnny Depp versus Amber Heard memes already!

And we’d especially like it if there were no more memes about that ONE THING at the trial that everyone is still talking about. Linen abuse is no laughing matter.

Okay, in this one situation, linen abuse maybe is something to laugh about. We’d just prefer to never see a visual image of it again. That’s all.
