2021 research has made headlines once more when a journalist drew attention to its startling findings, which cast doubt on a major tenet of the transgender movement.
Researchers from the American Urological Association conducted research in California and discovered that males who underwent vaginoplasty surgery—a surgical procedure that changes a person’s gender identity—had a higher risk of suicide following the procedure than they did prior to it.
Health and science reporter Benjamin Ryan, who has written for a number of liberal news organizations, including The Washington Post, The New York Times, and The Guardian, among others, succinctly described the study’s findings.
He clarified:
According to a study, transgender women in California who underwent vaginoplasty had twice as many attempts at suicide in the time after the procedure as they did in the time leading up to it. The researchers examined data from all 868 vaginoplasty and 357 phalloplasty patients in California between 2012 and 2018. Data from before and after surgery were available for an average of two years.”
Whether before or after surgery, a total of 22% of the vaginoplasty group and 21% of the phalloplasty group experienced at least one ER or in-patient mental health contact throughout the research period. 34% of the vaginoplasty group and 27% of the phalloplasty group experienced a psychiatric encounter following surgery, if one had occurred before the procedure.”
“After having a vaginoplasty, the rate of attempted suicides was twice as high as it was before the procedure, at 1.5% vs. 3.3%. While the vaginoplasty group’s suicide attempt rate was more than twice as high as the overall population, the phalloplasty group’s rate was comparable to that of the general population.”
The study’s authors concurred with Ryan’s reasoning, noting in their conclusion that while rates of mental episodes were high before and following surgery, there is a higher risk of suicide following the procedure.
“Suicide attempts are more likely in individuals who have had vaginoplasty than phalloplasty, despite the fact that both groups’ total rates of psychiatric contacts are comparable. In contrast to the vaginoplasty group, which had a rate more than twice as high as the overall population, the phalloplasty group’s observed incidence of suicide attempts is actually comparable to that of the general population. Patients undergoing GAS who have experienced feminizing transitions or previous mental emergences are more vulnerable and need to receive the right counseling.”
These results cast doubt on one of the main tenets of the transgender movement: that individuals with gender dysphoria who are denied the chance to accept their assumed identity and proceed with hormone therapy and a series of gruesome surgeries that frequently fail to produce the desired result are more likely to commit suicide or self-harm.
According to the findings, lawmakers, medical experts, and the public at large remain significantly divided in their views on transgenderism and society’s readiness to support transgender surgery. According to a Pew Research poll from 2022, 1.6% of American individuals identify as transgender or nonbinary. This is a startling rise from the problem’s classification as a severe medical oddity at the beginning of the century.

That America has come to this inhuman stage after 230+ years is questionable.I wish some sane scientists and maybe medical researchers could study the environmental and educational effects on our generations since the 60s forward.
I think there clearly are environmental factors for transgenderism. There seems to be far more transgenders now than when I was growing up in the 50’s & 60’s. I think that doctors are pushing parents to consent to “gender affirming care” for their minor children for financial gain rather than for the concern of the well being of the children, just as abortion providers encourage abortion for financial gain. Neither group of medical professionals cares about the well being of others as they ought to and neither of these should be permitted to practice medicine.
Ok I don’t approve of transgender but let me see if I can understand this right . The LGBQ movement says let someone “change” if they want to and insurance companies should pay for it , cause to not let them may lead to suicide what they don’t holler about is they may commit more suicide if they get the vaginoplasty or phalloplasty surgery !! Cause let me guess “ they done cut it off”!!! These people do have mental issues— you can only be one A man or A woman there are know in between even tho these transgender mental people are trying to make a difference.!!! It all goes back too you can’t change what you are born as you can try but if you where born a boy then you be a girl till you die then guess what you will be a “boy” when you die know matter how many drugs or surgery— as you where born is how you will die. God says there are “ man”. “Woman “ there are know in between. Sorry transgender you can be only two. Man or woman and know making yourself one from the other.
Transgenders are a group of nut jobs trying to play god with their body’s . And it’s become sick . A nut case man is crying cause he can’t play and win against bigger boys -so- what does he do— well he goes and get with the LGBQ and says I want to become a woman and in “he” goes playing in the women’s sports and “ he” wins the swimming tournament !! This is so wrong and all transgender “things” should not be aloud in sports. And it’s also a problem with bathrooms – know one wants a peeking Tom in their bathrooms. And this transgender stuff doesn’t need in little children’s schools and we don’t need books about it in school libraries. If this group of nuts want to play god with their body’s let them do it away from normal people.
