Ilhan Omar Pulls A Desperate Stunt To Keep Her Power

Rep. Ilhan Omar, a fiery Democrat, said on Sunday that House Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s attempt to have her removed from the House Foreign Affairs Committee was motivated by bigotry.

The Minnesota politician, who spoke on CNN’s “State of the Union,” has been criticized for promoting anti-Semitic stereotypes in the past. Most recently, he came under criticism for comparing the United States and Israel to the Taliban and Hamas. McCarthy, who took offense to Omar’s remarks, has also taken action to prevent Adam Schiff and Eric Swalwell from joining the House Intelligence Committee due to their prior actions. However, Omar said McCarthy’s choice in her case was “politically motivated.”

“And in some instances, it’s because many of these members don’t think a Muslim, a refugee, or an African should ever be in Congress, much less have the chance to serve on the Foreign Affairs Committee.”

Asked directly by CNN anchor Dana Bash if she was accusing McCarthy of racism, the legislator of Somali ancestry appeared to evade.

Omar stated, “I mean, I’m not making any charges. I’m only stating the obvious. … These individuals accept Islamophobia. They don’t mind engaging in their own forms of antisemitic trafficking. They object to a Muslim having a say on that committee.”

Omar also disputed that she had ever actively promoted anti-Semitic beliefs, claiming that prior statements that Israel had “hypnotized the globe” and a 2019 tweet accusing Israeli lobbyists of paying off Washington legislators were unintentional errors.

“This journey has had a lot of extremely illuminating moments. When individuals have interpreted my statements to suggest that I have something against the Jewish community, to imply that I intentionally stated these things is wrong,” she said.

Rahm Emanuel, a former Chicago mayor and Obama’s chief of staff, blasted Omar for her constant use of anti-Semitic insults in The Atlantic in March 2019. He stated frankly, “Her words are not anti-Israel; they are anti-Semitic.”

Emanuel began by naming Omar and asserting that “most of her fellow Democrats” have denounced her statements. Then he listed some of her incendiary remarks, such as the suggestion that proponents of Israel had two allegiances.

“Nobody contests Congressmen’s and others’ right to criticize Israeli policy,” Emanuel stated. “But Omar is going beyond what is appropriate in political debate. Her comments are anti-Semitic, not anti-Israel.”

  1. Of course let’s play the race card. How about a conspiracy, maybe a white supremacist, could be climate change, how about we need more gun control,or we’re anti socialist.
That Omar & the dems response to all reality.

  2. She still is being kicked off the committee and needs to be ran out of office and sent back to her shit hole Somalia

  3. Omar married her brother to get to stay in the US. That’s illegal in the US and she should have been sent back then. She was behind the defunding the police in Minnesota and backing the burning of the city. Now Minnesota can’t even hire police officers because they will be sent to jail if anything happens. Problem is that Minnesota now has about 15,000 of her friends from Samalia that keeps her there.

  4. Its motivated by you being an Amerca Hating Israel Hating illegal leftist that has no business being on the Foreign Relations Committee let alone a member of congress.
So just shut up and and quit acting like the spoiled child you are

  5. Hey Omar, If your 19 friends had not hi-jacked those planes on 9/11, and crashed them, they’d still be alive.

  6. There is always the possibility of Omar changing for the better. Let’s show grace in this situation for the better good of the House of Representative. By extending an olive branch could cause Omar to become a staunch supporter of the Jewish state.

    1. She’s a Muslim, her allegiance is to Allah and only Allah. She will never change. And, because she is a Muslim, she will lie to Americans in order to further the cause of Islam. She deserves no grace.
