A new Congress is on its way to Washington, DC, and it’s time you start budgeting appropriately.
In the run-up to the 2018 midterm elections, it was unclear what sort of platform the Democratic Party was actually running on. Sure enough, the candidates were anti-Trump — but for the most part that was really anyone knew. Now that they’ve won and taken over the House of Representatives, their goals are becoming more transparent.
In 2019, we get to look forward to the Democrats trying to reverse every single policy that has made the modern economic miracle possible. They want to do away with President Donald Trump’s tax cuts. They want to reinstate the plethora of regulations on the economy. They want to enshrine Obamacare into permanence. In other words, they want to do the precise opposite of what the American people said they wanted in 2016.
Considering all of this, it’s no wonder why their platform was so ambiguous. If they actually ran on it, they might have actually lost again. Say what you want about the Democrats — they’re a lot smarter than some of us give them credit for.
