This week, a fight between Democrats over Israel almost got physical after Representative André Carson (D-IN) called Representative Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ) a “coward” several times while in an interview and stated, “We can deal with it like men or we can escalate it into something else.”
Carson was reacting to a post made by Gottheimer on X in which he called 15 Democratic colleagues who voted “present” or in opposition to a House resolution endorsing Israel “despicable.”
A lot of well-known Jewish activists were against Carson’s threat. The Anti-Defamation League’s chief executive officer, Jonathan Greenblatt, wrote:
“No Congress member should be allowed to threaten a colleague. It is especially outrageous that @RepAndreCarson has threatened a Jewish colleague for speaking out at a time when antisemitism is on the rise. Why bother? Does he believe that scaring @RepJoshG is a good idea?”
Afterwards, Gottheimer tried to calm things down by writing on Facebook that he was grateful for coworkers who did back the nonpartisan motion and that “it is more crucial than ever for us to communicate to each other.”
Still, the event showed that Democrats in Congress and the people as a whole have different views on Israel.
Hundreds of thousands of progressives across the nation have demonstrated against Israel’s military response to Hamas assaults, which killed over 1,400 Jews in southern Israel in the worst anti-Semitic demonstrations since the Holocaust. The demonstrations took place on college campuses and in large cities.
Protesters even went to the U.S. Capitol, where they were led by Palestinian-American and Muslim Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib (D-MI).
Tlaib, Carson, and seven additional Democrats voted in opposition to the resolution in support of the nation of Israel. A total of six Dems voted “present.”
Gottheimer wasn’t the only one to scold Democrats who voted against the measure.
According to CNN, Representative Debbie Wasserman-Schultz (D-FL) strongly disagreed with Tlaib and her acts “during this process.” She also said that anyone voting in opposition to this motion “does not have a soul.”
It does not seem as though the widening division will soon come to an end. Israel began its attack in Gaza this week. It will likely last for months.

How to tell if a politician is corrupt: if they go into office with around or less than $100k, and become a multimillionaire, with multiple homes that cost over a million dollars each, and they wear the most expensive clothes & jewelry there is, they are corrupt! There is NO WAY to become THAT rich with an annual salary of $247k a year, which is the salary for both a senator and a representative!
Demonrats are too stupid to understand that Israel is our ONLY ally in the Middle East! I don’t understand all the antisemitism in our government, other than the fact that they back terrorists. They are too stupid to understand that the Islamist’s would kill them in a heartbeat , because if they are not Islam believers , they are infidels and must be killed! Guess the idiots must have death wish. They all need to be removed from office asap. We do not need them and their radicalism in our government!
So Israel is not supposed to fight back at all, they’re just supposed to let Hamas keep bombing them & raping the women and killing them and the children?? And do nothing about it? With that attitude they may as well send a nuke over there to kill every last one of them! And maybe send a nuke as well to Iran and Iraq! All the hate in the world right now is disgusting!
