It initially seemed that the cops were acting heroically in Uvalde, Texas this past week during a tragic school shooting. But now it’s clear that the police didn’t do their jobs and allowed the shooter to continue killing children inside the school for way too long. And the cops are being brutalized in the world of memes because of it.
This is actually one of the milder memes about what happened. Parents were stopped from running into the school and rescuing their children. Meanwhile, cops with guns were standing around outside and hassling the parents.
This went on for about 40 minutes. The cell phone videos are heart wrenching. One mother told the cops to give her a gun; she’d go in with no body armor to try to save some of the kids inside. What parent wouldn’t?
In fact, one mom did run inside and save her kids. Hate to say it, but it looks like the cops deserve a big thumbs-down for their inaction in Uvalde. If you’ve got a gun and there’s a bad guy murdering little kids in a school, it’s time to go get in a gunfight. Period.
If you are going to be a laws enforcement. Stop being a cowad! You took an oath to SERVE AND PROTECT. Just do your job! Or find something else to do! Why did a mother run into the building without a gun!!! And save her own children!!! Fear is something that hit everyone!
I argee police are like the military they hire on to Protect and serve the citizens of our nation…they cannot stand back and let people get slaughtered…especially children…Uvalde needs a new police force one thats not afraid of bad guys!
I’m not a Conspiracy Theory follower. But stories like this: well, I can see why some are.
Law Enforcement Officers have the same duty to protect as our military. They are duty bound to “Run to the sound of the guns.”
The ‘stand down’ order came from higher up. And they had to comply. But I would have gone in and disobeyed the order as a caring human being and delt with the problem of disobeying later.
Sounds similar to the parkland high school, Florida, St Valentine’s Day massacre in 2018?
Hmmm…, interesting…, no more guns in civilian hands and zero police assistance…? I guess people just need to hide in their homes and be good little democrat communist peasants!
Police are trained to follow the directions of their superiors. The guilty party in this fiasco is the police chief – no one else. However! Like one commenter above said, I, too, would have pulled my gun and rushed the shooter – no matter what the “woke”, cowardly chief said. There IS such a thing as morality and personal honor – no matter what “orders” are given. This was proved, conclusively, at the WW II Nuremberg trials.
Cops should have entered the school and find the room the shooter is in. Have some cops on the outside shoot thru windows at shooter while the ones on the inside shoot lock off door and enter room and kill shooter.
They need a new chief! Yes the officers should have disobeyed him they now have to live with his horrific order Stand Down!
THIS JUST GOES TO SHOW YOU YOU HAVE TO DEFEND YOURSELF AND NOT RELEY ON OTHERS THAT IS WHY WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO BARE ARMS
That order to “stand down “ is absolutely disgusting, claiming that the department hadn’t been trained on active shooter situations. Why not? This wasn’t the first school shooting to ever happen. I just hope that the chief and every officer that failed at their duty that day to be held accountable for their inaction to protect all those innocent children who had done nothing wrong and was there to get an education, not to be slaughtered. Did anybody check out the lock on the door that the teacher supposedly slammed shut and it didn’t lock like it was supposed to do?And the resource officer that suddenly wasn’t where he was supposed to be. Alot of answers need to be forthcoming.
