What is North Korea’s End Game?

After a recent missile launch which showed North Korea’s arsenal may in fact be able to reach densely populated areas like New York and Washington, DC, the Trump administration is taking the threat from Pyongyang very seriously.

Despite this credible threat, one has to wonder what North Korea’s real end game is. This meme essentially sums this up.

Yes, it’s true that the rogue regime is a regional and global threat. It’s also true that diplomatic measures to scale back the support it receives from its wealthy neighbor China are preferable to all-out war. But, let’s be honest — if push came to shove, we all know how that would end.

The United States commands not only the waters around the Korean Peninsula, but has the potential to dominate the airspace right above it with a single phone call. With the Seventh Fleet patrolling the area, and several allied powers standing ready to take action as well, North Korea is hardly the threat the country’s leader likes to pretend it is.

Remember this the next time the mainstream media tries to scare you into believing that President Trump is moving us closer to World War III.
